Minnehaha Falls

Minnehaha Falls is situated in Minneapolis Minnesota. The falls is in Minnehaha Park, a big city park on the shores of the Mississipi River. The park includes picnic areas, trails, sculpture and the 53 foot falls. The park is positioned off of Hiawatha Ave.

There is a bridge now above the falls, and trails that go downward into the gorge on both sides, and another bridge under the falls. The trails continue the length of the creek. I consider you can follow the trail all the way to the Mississipi, which is less than 1/2 mile left from the falls.

There are viewing areas on both sides of the gorge and at the base of the gorge. There are caution signs and small fences to discourage you from getting closer to the falls, but is clear that many people do. From the look of it you could get at the back the falls.
